About Softora Innovation
Softora Innovation is a research and development company. We are interested in technical subjects and in the social questions that come with them, with particular attention to how both apply in Nepal.
Why our interests are broad
Technical and social questions rarely stay apart for long. A connected sensor raises questions about security. Data analysis is only as useful as the decisions it informs. A new road or water supply in a growing town depends on planning and policy as much as on engineering.
For that reason we keep embedded systems, cryptography, and machine learning alongside market research, urban development, and public policy. Working across these fields lets each one inform the others.

Our approach
These four ideas describe our research outlook and the way we like to work.
- Curiosity
- We start from questions we think are worth asking, including ones that sit between technical and social subjects.
- Investigation
- Before drawing conclusions, we read, gather data, and look closely at how things currently work.
- Experimentation
- Where a question can be tested, we prefer to try things out and compare what happens with what we expected.
- Practical relevance
- We ask what an idea or finding would mean in practice, especially for people and institutions in Nepal.
